This is the official Zo House playbook for hosting a Hackathon. Whether you’re planning a 24-hour jam or a 36-hour build sprint, this guide will walk you through every step β€” from proposal to promotion to post-event wrap-up.

Note: If you require overnight accommodation for participants, this becomes a Hacker House. Refer to the Hacker House Playbook instead.


Who is this for?

This template is for devrels, ecosystem leads, community managers, and founders who want to run intense, high-energy hackathons inside a Zo House, either independently or in collaboration with partner protocols or platforms.


1. Start Here: Get Approval

2. Set Up Registrations

Host:

  • Create an event on Luma

  • Add event name, date, time, and venue (Zo House)

  • Cap attendance based on house capacity

  • Add products@zo.xyz as a co-host

  • Refer to Zo’s Luma How-To Guide for setup

3. Promote the Event

  • Use Zo House design kit/templates or request brand assets from ops

  • All flyers/posts must include the Zo logo

  • Tag respective Zo handels on Instagram/X

  • Encourage attendees to repost & bring friends

  • Share Luma (for particpants) links in every announcement

5. Rules & Revenue

  • No overnight stay unless previously approved as Hacker House

  • Only Luma-registered hackers may participate

  • Founder Members may get early access or special perks

  • If ticketed:

    • 21% of revenue goes to Zo House treasury

    • 79% goes to the host (via Luma or external)

6. After the Event

  • Share highlight photos and stories on socials

  • Tag Zo World on X and Insta

  • Post group photo + tag participants (if possible)

  • Submit event retro to ops team:

    • No. of participants

    • No. of project submissions

    • Key learnings
